The Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus was founded in 1908. This campus is the international branch campus in Melbourne, Australia. In 2000, it was opened in Malaysia at Kuching, Sarawak. Since its inception, this campus has grown rapidly. This specially designed campus has around 4000 students. Other than Malaysian students, there are students from over 60 countries who choose to further their studies at this university in the course they are interested in. It makes this university is truly international.

Applied professional emphasis and direct placement in industry are characteristics of many undergraduate courses. This university is famous for being able to produce graduates who are willing to work because an important part of the course structure is that they focus on practical training.

Swinburne University received the highest rating of Tier 5 by any universities in SETARA in 2009, 2011 and 2013. This campus also successfully managed to maintain its 5-star rating in the Ministry of Education’s Latest Assessment for SETARA in 2017 for the fourth time in a row.
